Learning Bridges Workshops: World Health Week


April 6th: It’s World Health Week and the Learning Bridges program will hold a week-long workshop featuring our friends at the NYPD and FDNY! Today Lt. Mcintosh of FDNY Engine 294 will talk to our kids about fire safety and what it takes to be a firefighter. Officer Leighton Barrett & McGruff the Crime Dog will hold a discussion on mental health, social media and gaming safety.

April 7th: Today’s Learning Bridge “World Health Week” workshop is presented by Mr. Terrance Sykes of FDNY Engine 323. Our kids will learn about what they can do to stay safe in case of a fire emergency and the various careers the FDNY offers.

April 8th: We’re wrapping up “World Health Week” with a workshop presented by EMT V. Barancco of Jamaica Hospital. Kids will learn how to stay safe at home, safety guidelines, and what Emergency Medical Technicians are and do.
